    Pushback Rack in Aurora, OH

Pushback rack in Aurora suits specialty manufacturers and consumer-brand tenants along Aurora Industrial Parkway who hold several pallets of each product but cannot spare an aisle for every one. Loads sit on nested carts that travel up gently inclined rails, two to six positions deep.

A forklift sets a pallet on the front cart. The next load nudges it rearward, and when the driver lifts the face pallet away, the remaining loads drift forward by gravity. That makes each lane last-in, first-out, worked entirely from one aisle.

Planning Your First Push Back Racking Layout in Aurora

Many Aurora operators are racking a warehouse for the very first time. That is a good moment to get the storage method right, because nothing existing has to be torn out.

Start with an inventory snapshot: each SKU, its pallet footprint and weight, and how many pallets you normally carry versus your peak. A spreadsheet export works fine.

From those counts we sort products into groups. Single-pallet items stay in selective bays. Products averaging three to five pallets become lane candidates. Very deep, slow-turning stock may point toward drive-in instead.

The free CAD drawing then places lanes against your measured columns, dock doors and staging area. You see positions gained, aisles removed and where each SKU family lives before any steel is ordered.

We are a division of Warehouse Equipment & Supplies Co., supplying and installing storage systems since 1997. Your proposal lists frames, beams, rail sets and carts as new material, sized to your loads.

When Pushback Pallet Rack Beats Selective or Drive-In

Selective rack gives every pallet its own face, which is ideal for wide assortments but spends a lot of floor on aisles. Drive-in packs pallets tighter, yet trucks must enter the structure and each lane generally holds one product at every level.

The cart system sits between them. Each level of a bay can hold a different SKU, the truck stays in the aisle, and density climbs sharply. The trade-off is LIFO access, so date-sensitive goods that must ship oldest-first belong in flow lanes rather than here.

Match lane depth to pallets per SKU. A four-deep lane holding a product that rarely exceeds two pallets wastes the rear positions. Mixing a three-deep and a five-deep row is common and usually the smarter answer.

Aurora's Newer Buildings and Turnpike Access

Aurora's industrial stock is newer and limited, much of it in the Route 82 and Route 43 corridors between I-480 and the Ohio Turnpike, alongside the Twinsburg and Streetsboro flex buildings. Higher clear heights here let push back racking carry more beam levels per lane, so we check mast reach, cart height and load overhang at each elevation. Winter deliveries to the Eggleston Road and Bissell Road area get scheduled with lake-effect weather in mind.

    Pushback Rack Components and Sizing

Each part of the system is selected for your heaviest pallet and the deepest lane you plan.

    1

    Rails and nested carts

Carts stack inside one another at the front and separate as pallets push in. Their wheels ride the rails; the pallet sits on the cart deck rather than rolling on its bottom boards.

    2

    Beam and frame selection

Beams carry the rail assemblies, and frames are rated for the combined weight of every pallet stored in the bay. Deeper lanes mean more load per frame line, so capacity is calculated per configuration.

    3

    Front entry and pallet stops

Entry guides help drivers center loads, and stops hold the face pallet at the aisle edge. Rack protection at the uprights handles the extra truck traffic a dense block concentrates.

    4

    Adding lanes to existing rack

Tenants who already installed selective bays can sometimes convert a run. We confirm the frame make, beam connectors and remaining capacity before treating any existing component as reusable.
